Contracting with Realnz

At RealNZ, we protect what matters - people and places. As a contractor, you play a critical role in helping us achieve this commitment. We are dedicated to ensuring that all work undertaken across our operations is carried out safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with New Zealand legislation, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA), RealNZ has a duty to safeguard the health and safety of everyone at our workplaces, including contractors. We expect all contractors to share this commitment by planning and conducting their work so that no harm comes to people, and no damage occurs to plant, property, or the surrounding environment.

Working with RealNZ means actively engaging in your responsibilities as a duty holder. This includes consulting, co-operating, and co-ordinating with RealNZ and other parties where duties overlap. Contractors must understand these shared obligations and take a proactive approach to identifying, managing, and communicating risks to ensure safe and successful outcomes for everyone involved.

To support this, RealNZ requires all contractors undertaking work for us to be pre-qualified through our internal health and safety pre-qualification process. This ensures that all contractors meet our standards and are equipped to manage risks effectively before work begins.

By working together, we can create safe environments and protect the unique places we operate in.
