Code of conduct

RealNZ exists to connect people with the extraordinary natural and cultural experiences of Aotearoa New Zealand. Caring for the places we operate in, the people we work with, and the communities we are part of is fundamental to who we are. Our suppliers play an important role in helping us deliver on that purpose. We expect suppliers to operate ethically, sustainably, and responsibly, reflecting the values we hold as a business.

We believe strong supplier relationships are built on transparency, fairness, and mutual respect. We aim to work collaboratively, communicate openly, and act in good faith to achieve safe, sustainable, and high-quality outcomes. This Code outlines the minimum standards we expect of all suppliers, contractors, and business partners, including how they conduct business, support their people, protect the environment, and contribute positively to the communities in which they operate.

We recognise suppliers vary in size and capability, and we ask that reasonable steps are taken to align with these standards in a way that is appropriate to each business. If you have any questions about this Code or your obligations under it, please contact [email protected].

1. Legal and Regulatory Compliance

Suppliers must:

  • maintain all required licences, permits, and registrations;
  • operate in accordance with applicable trade, customs, sanctions, and export control laws; and
  • maintain accurate and complete business records.

2. Supply Chain Accountability

Suppliers are expected to take reasonable steps to ensure that their own suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners operate in a manner consistent with the standards set out in this Code. This includes:

  • taking reasonable steps to identify, assess and manage risks of non-compliance within their supply chain; and
  • promptly notifying RealNZ of any known or suspected breaches of this Code by a sub-supplier or subcontractor that may materially affect goods or services provided to RealNZ.

RealNZ recognises that suppliers may not have full visibility or control over all parts of their supply chain. Suppliers are nevertheless expected to act in good faith and exercise due diligence proportionate to the nature, size and risk profile of their supply arrangements.
