Prepayment by credit card and subsequent confirmation by RealNZ Ltd is accepted as confirmation of your booking.
All transactions are conducted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Due to exchange rate fluctuations, at times there may be some variance in the amounts refunded compared to the amount initially charged. RealNZ Ltd (and associated companies) does not accept any liability for these variances or any subsequent credit card/bank charges relating to these transfers to customers' accounts.
RealNZ (and associated companies) reserve the right to amend timetables, cancel departures, substitute plant and equipment, amend specials or offers and alter ticket prices at any time.
All agreements and contracts shall be subject solely to New Zealand law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. In the event of a cancellation or amendment to your booking, the notification period is in NZ time (NZST).
We strongly recommend travel insurance for all our experiences, especially for those that require longer notification periods for cancellation (see below).
The majority of our vessels and all coaches are smoke-free zones, no smoking will be permitted onboard. Smoking is only allowed in the designated area on our overnight and multi-day cruises.
In the event of a cancellation or amendment to your booking, refunds will only be granted when RealNZ receives notification at least 24 hours prior (NZ time) to departure date EXCEPT:

Cancellations: All cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellation fees are not negotiable - we recommend travel insurance.
Web bookings require full payment at the time of booking.
Phone and all other booking methods require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and full payment 120 days prior to departure.
Cancellation fees are charged on the following basis for all bookings:
Once the expedition has departed, no portion of the package payment is refundable in the event of the individual or group being unable to proceed.
A $50 fee is charged for amendments to a confirmed reservation. Please note we cannot accept any amendments within 59 days prior to travel.

- Bookings made on the RealNZ website will require the promo code to be entered in the “promo code” field during the booking process - then the discount will be applied.
- The promo code is case-sensitive and must be exact
- Full payment must be made at the time of booking

Entering the RealNZ $250 Giveaway (“the Competition”) is considered to be accepting the below terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).
1 x $250 voucher for RealNZ, including a discount code for online use. This prize is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full. The prize must be used to book an experience which takes place before 01/09/2024. Not applicable on all experiences. The following terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the Kākāriki Karaka Translocation Trip 2024 competition. By entering this competition, participants agree to these terms and conditions.
Competition Organizer: The competition is organized by RealNZ located at Level 2, 74 Shotover Street, Queenstown, 9300.
Eligibility: The competition is open to individuals aged 18 years and above. The prize is ex-Queenstown and requires walking on uneven ground for minimum 1 hour.
How to Enter: To enter the competition, participants must donate to the Kākāriki Karaka Translocation Project fund through the online platform specified on the RealNZ website (realnz.com). The minimum donation amount to enter is $5 NZD. There is no maximum donation limit; participants may donate more if they wish to do so.
Competition Period: The competition will run from Monday 14 August 2023 to Thursday 14 September 2023. Entries received outside this period will not be considered.
Prize: The prize for this competition is a 2x pass for a translocation trip to Anchor Island in 2024 to witness the Kākāriki Karaka translocation project firsthand. The prize includes transportation from Queenstown, accommodation for the duration of the trip, and guided tours on Anchor Island. The exact dates of the trip will be communicated to the winner in due course.
Winner Selection: The winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received during the competition period. The draw will take place within seven days after the competition ends, and the winner will be notified via the contact information provided during the donation process. If the winner does not respond within seven days of the notification, a new winner will be randomly selected.
Announcement of Winner: The winner's name will be announced on the competition organizer's official website and social media channels, subject to the winner's consent.
Publicity and Data Usage: By participating in the competition, participants agree to the use of their name and any other relevant details in publicity material related to the competition and its outcome.
Prize Conditions: The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives. The winner is responsible for ensuring they are in the country to participate in the translocation trip. The winner is responsible for any additional expenses not explicitly mentioned in the prize description.
General Conditions: The competition organizer reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the competition in case of unforeseen circumstances or technical issues beyond their control. The competition organizer's decision on all matters relating to the competition, including the winner selection, shall be final and binding. The competition organizer will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury caused by using the prize.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
