Experience gravity-fuelled excitement on New Zealand’s only mountain carts! With three carting tracks to choose from, you can explore the mountain your way. Take in the alpine scenery on a leisurely roll or race down the mountain and master the art of drifting around bends before riding the lift back to the top for another lap. No prior carting experience is needed, just a sense of adventure and a thirst for FUN!

Experience the buzz as you race down a mountain racecourse in a three-wheeled, downhill gravity cart and leave your mates in a trail of dust!
The Cardrona summer season runs from December 10th until March 3rd. Operating 7 days a week from December 26th-January 22nd (Closed Christmas day). And 5 days a week (Thurs-Mon) from December 10th- December 24th and January 23rd - March 3rd 2024.
Booking Information
- Kids must be 8 years old and 100cm+ tall to ride on their own cart – kids younger or shorter can ride tandem with an adult. Please note that a $25 “carting buddy” rate may apply, and the combined weight per cart must not exceed 110kg
- Kids under 12 years must mountain cart with a responsible adult
- When booking your carting session, choose your cart based on your height
- All safety equipment will be provided. You’ll be given overalls, full-face helmet, and gloves
- Please wear covered footwear and bring warm clothing layers
- All mountain carters must read and sign a waiver and watch the safety briefing video before their session
- Bookings are strongly recommended and subject to availability
- Lift operations are subject to weather
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your booked session

We are a 58km scenic drive from Queenstown over the Crowne Range. You’ll find us off the main highway up the 13km gravel road. Please allow plenty of time for driving up the mountain road as conditions do change.
